Communicate
- Focus your team around a common vision and mission
- Establish an effective communication model for the team
- Develop effective communication skills which keep all
team members fully informed and encourage feedback from
all levels.
Participation: Developing Your Team’s
Vision and Mission
Participants will work with their organization’s
existing Vision and Mission Statement, or develop new ones,
and learn how it can then be applied to improve performance.
Motivate
- Motivate a team through an appropriate reward structure
- Motivate the project team by empowering, where appropriate
and recognizing the individual talents of each team member.
- Encourage team participation and involvement.
Participation: Brainstorming rewards
Participants will discuss and analyze their existing reward
structure, comparing and contrasting with effective team-oriented
rewards.
Apply
Situational Leadership
- Identify and recognize the stages of team formation
- Manage conflicts of interest so that they do not jeopardize
the success of the project.
- Deal effectively with difficult people and behaviors.
- Understand why team issues may arise and what to do about
them
Participation: Determining Your Management Style
Participants will determine their leadership style and their
ability to adapt to the demands of the situation.
Workshop: Determine the Most Appropriate Leadership Style
Working in teams, participants will identify the most appropriate
leadership styles for various project situations.
Workshop: A Problem-Solving Situation
Given a problem to solve, you will work in groups to experience
the effects of differing management and problem-solving styles
on team performance, communications and productivity.
