Craig Collins is associated with BMC in the role of Senior Consultant. His professional career of more than thirty years’ management experience in the international arena has provided him with a wealth of first-hand experience in managing multinational projects involving organizations with differing organizational and cultural values. His areas of expertise include team leadership, managing multicultural project teams and building high-performing human systems.

Craig is particularly interested in assisting technically oriented managers to strengthen their people and project management skills and in helping managers to develop their ability to manage multicultural teams effectively. His initial training as an engineer followed by graduate work in the behavioral sciences makes him keenly aware of the frustrations experienced by many technical managers attempting to adopt a more people-oriented approach. It gives him great personal satisfaction to assist others to reframe and navigate this career challenge.

His professional experience includes four years as a US naval officer as well as several line management positions with John Deere in the US, Europe and the Middle East. For six years he was Associate Director of the Middle East Management Centre (an affiliate of Management Centre Europe and the American Management Association). He was responsible for business development, managing all in-company training projects and the marketing and delivery of public courses. During this period, he also gained experience as a course leader and facilitator.

In 1992, Craig established Orion International, a network of management and organizational development professionals based in Europe and the US. Here Craig and his associates worked with organizations to clarify the learning needs of managers and professionals and to address them through relevant experiential programs. In addition, they provided coaching to individuals and teams.

Craig received his undergraduate degree from Rice University (USA) in Electrical Engineering and German and was awarded a grant for a year's graduate study in Germany. Following service as a US naval officer, he attended joint MBA programmes at Southern Methodist University (where he received the Dean's Award) and the American Graduate School of International Management ("Thunderbird").

His international clients have included Bayer, BHP, Caterpillar, Cathay Pacific Airways, DHL Express, Federal Express, ExxonMobil, GlaxoSmithKline, Henkel, Honeywell, Hewlett Packard, Lucent Technologies, Novozyme, Pepsi-Cola International, Schlumberger and Sedco Forex.
