The Art of Project Management® for IT/IS Projects (3 days)
If you think about it, all our work is a series of projects - no matter how big or how small. And all of us have customers for whom we provide goods or services, whether inside or outside our organization. So, in a world where we are constantly asked to work faster and smarter, doesn't it make sense to be as well organized as possible?
The Art of Project Management® for IT/IS projects introduces the five basic functions of project management: Planning, Organizing and Staffing, Directing and Leading, Controlling, and Reporting. Real world examples are presented to emphasize the importance of each element and how the presence or lack of these functions has affected leading organizations.
Classic tools are introduced in high-energy lectures and then utilized in Project Workshops in which participants work in teams to design a variety of Work Breakdown Structures and Gantt Charts for different project situations and conditions.
BMC has developed a unique Project Management Assessment Inventory and Action Kit™ - by which participants evaluate themselves during the course and then will return to their company for complete 360 degree evaluation by their team, project manager, and immediate supervisors.
This course is targeted at IT/IS specialists just getting into project management as well as those information specialists (hardware and software) who have experience in project management.
