Background
David held senior management positions for over 17 years within ICL, NorTel and Reuters. He has significant coaching experience with senior management teams working to clarify purpose, direction and action. In addition to delivering coach training, he has contributed to Corporate Coach development as a programme designer, and is dedicated to the development of coaching. Committed to life-long learning, David is constantly ‘taking his own medicine’, testing advances in coaching and having achieved a distinction in his Diploma as an Executive & Corporate Coach.

Coaching Style
David has an approach that is both structured and adaptive. He is particularly skilled in personal and organisational effectiveness - one of the keys to aligning an executive’s talents and motivation with delivery against organisational needs. David believes that for coaching to be effective it must encompass personal and psychological issues as well as practical matters.

The coaching method is supported by diagnostic psychometrics, 360 approaches and gaining detailed clarity over outcomes. David uses a ‘toolbox’ approach to coaching, believing that while certain presented needs may seem similar, no one method fits all, and at those times when both the client and coach are stuck, different tactics need to be applied. He uses many practical approaches including goal-oriented cognitive behavioural methods as well as mental models to help clients make sense of doing, thinking and feeling. David is aware of both the highs and the lows, having received several career achievement awards as well as experiencing the stresses of redundancy.  As a result of these events clients discover David is highly effective in supporting, challenging, stretching and developing them.
