Objective: Implementation of PM services including the continuous advisement and improvement of Airbus’s Project Management System as Airbus’s Official Strategic Advisor to Project Management.

The areas of the assignment include A380 and A320 series aircraft programmes in several areas – Programme Management, Concurrent Engineering, Operations Integration and Industrial and Professional Skills areas. Our effort also extends to the Accelerated Development Programme for “high-potential” Airbus executives. In the area of project management we are engaged in the formation of a Centre of Competence for Project Management supported by a dedicated team and network of practitioners. Activities amongst others include the development of a Policy Statement from Executive Management; the establishment of simple procedures for Project Management with aligned tools; Making project management the core competence of the company with an identified structured career path and ensure it is part of the Personal Development Review of the company’s employees; the establishment of the right attitude and behaviour of middle and upper management; and increase the performance of Project Management within the UK Executive Management population resulting in an overall 13% performance increase, and an increase of 39% against an international database. The Chief Financial Officer of Airbus UK described these programmes as “In terms of value for money, the Senior PM Development workshops have been the most successful thing we have done in Airbus UK to develop our senior population. Aligned to this was the development of over 450 project managers, line managers and team members in the areas of project management tools, people skills and company organisational and environmental process.

Target Group: Top Executives to Project Team Members – 10,000 people
Implementing Project Management development in the areas of training core project managers, assessment of procedures and guidelines, implementation of new procedures, mentoring of Senior Managers, creating awareness of PM throughout the organization, founding member of the NASA PM Faculty, assessment of PM Maturity, monitoring and implementation of improvements, coaching the implementation of PMS components, conducting workshops for reviewing PM maturity and carrying out improvements. Client: Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC)
Target Group: IT Services and High Potential Leaders – Over 600 people
CCHBC is the world’s second largest bottler of Coca-Cola. Due to its fast growth in Central and East Europe, it became necessary to derive synergies from the various operations of the company through re-organisation, skill enhancement and the integration of IT services. The starting point was for this process was selected to be the IT/IS services. The project involved the implementation of the IT/IS mission with corporate values and mission, the analysis of current IT/IS skill set and the enhancement of project management skills of the IT/IS executives. In conjunction with this activity CCHBC tasked BMC with the development of its high potential leaders with regard to project management.
Client: State of Oklahoma
Target Group: Over 10,000 people
Implementation of a ‘Project Based Approach’ in the State Organisation and the development of the State Government’s project Management competencies. BMC was selected for this assignment having competed against major consultancies. The choice was made based on the completeness of BMC’s Project Management services and maturity based curriculum.
The Director of IT/IS for The State of Oklahoma DHS has recently said, “We found BMC consultants to be head and shoulders above all other consultants we evaluated”.

Target Group: Over 4000
Design, development and implementation of a complete programme to identify the skills, competency and job descriptions for a project management function of over 4000 people; assess people against a competency framework and identify improvement / development opportunities; put together an entire development programme including training, coaching and ‘hands on’ experience for the whole width of different roles; and communicate programme through a variety of media.
Client: GLAXOSMITHKLINE Germany
Target Group: Whole Organization - 5000 people
Implementing improvements to the Project Management practices following the merger of GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham including harmonizing and supporting the new PM culture and vision. As part of this process project management competencies were seen as critical for the success of the organisation. We introduced project management disciplines, training, system and management support involving over 300 employees to operate in cross-functional project teams for such activities and product launch, medical and technical development and clinical trials projects. GSK measured success of the initiative by tracking improvement using their internal balanced scorecard indices. The European Medical Director of GlaxoSmithKline says:
